The workshop “Academy of Gallery” has took place on 25-27th of September in 2008 in Vilnius. As the outcome from that workshop a publication “Galerijos žurnalas” (A Galllery Log) was made. You can take your copy of it in Vilnius or download (PDF, ~8 MB) and read it in English and Lithuanian.

The workshop “Academy of Gallery ” is going to gather young Lithuanian artists working with photography. Alltogether we are going to work for three days and reconsider the very notion of a gallery. Among others these questions are going be to discussed:
- What is a/the gallery?
- What is young Lithuanian artists’ relation to a gallery?
- How to survive inside/outside the gallery?
- What is creativity and how it is possible to discipline/enforce it?
The workshop is going to be stocked by lectures, discussions, presentations by artists, excursions to the local galleries, etc.
This workshop is also acting as an exhibition because we are experementing with a medium of gallery and exhibition. Exhibition as a process and workshop as an exhibition. With a help of all these means artists and their facilitator is going to identify local problems and to publish a book/magazine as a final result.
